Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I am a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), a National Construction Safety Officer, have held a Radiation Safety Officer certificate, have completed the Incident Command System ICS 200, and have been trained in Community Emergency Services Planning through Emergency Planning Canada. My involvement in Occupational Health and Safety is largely in the upstream petroleum industries, but I have also worked in Canada’s nuclear industry having completed a contract position with Cameco’s Vision in Motion project as well as the Port Hope Area Initiative. Although separate projects, they both involved remediation of low-level radioactive materials at the former Eldorado Nuclear site and other areas within Port Hope, Ontario. I have a thorough knowledge of Safety Management Systems and am well versed in occupational health and safety legislation. Further, I am a former member of the Enform Process Safety Steering Committee and am the current chair of the CSA Z1006 Confined Space Management technical committee, responsible for re-writing and publishing the 2016 edition of CSA standard Z1006 Management of Confined Space, and currently working on the next revision. I believe I bring a lot of positive attributes to the workplace and work well with peers or unaccompanied on a task. I am dedicated to continuously improving both myself and my workplace and am a goal-driven individual, infusing everything I do with a desire for excellence.
