Headed up a significant client’s full portfolio of software projects as lead project manager. Responsible for nurturing and growing a long-term mutually beneficial relationship, through the successful delivery of quality systems that add business value, within budget and on time.

Being very passionate about quality, I served on the Quality Assurance Centre of Excellence (QA CoE). Wanting to drive the discipline forward to uplift internal skill sets throughout the company, the team is responsible for the planning and conducting of internal training (both on-going and for new hires), general research and administration, ensuring knowledge spread, reviewing and refining processes and the supporting of QA’s within the company. In June 2012, representing the QA CoE, I additionally served on the overall Centre of Excellence (CoE) to help ensure synergy between the various disciplines and respective CoE’s within the company.

Headed up the newly formed mobile development team with the primary focus on project management but additionally assisting with quality assurance and business analysis activities. The methodology approach remained mostly waterfall, but during this time there was an understanding of agile principles gained. Project platforms included mostly iOS and Android.One highlight: delivered rapid iterations of an award-winning Property Inspection and Lighting Management tool (iOS) for a client based in the United States (alongside other concurrent projects).

Project management became my primary focus, being responsible for the initiation, planning, tracking and reporting of multiple global projects / releases concurrently. Whilst still involved with global client management, responsibilities in the areas of team and internal people management significantly increased, becoming responsible for team member’s growth, forecasting, billing and planning of resource allocations.One highlight: Headed-up and assisted on software projects that span global locations (USA, Brazil, Europe, India and China). Including mission-critical applications such as a Time and Payroll Allocation System that processed salaries in excess of USD 350 000 000.00

Building on the existing responsibilities below, I moved into a hybrid role in project management and quality assurance. Headed up the planning and tracking of projects, managing the team and clients whilst still assisting with the facets of quality assurance. Additionally responsible for the support of live (global) applications that I was involved with during this time.

The core responsibility was for the overall successful delivery of quality solutions. From a testing perspective, owning the formulation and execution of test cases and plans whilst additionally reporting on and managing application issues. Other responsibilities included reviewing specifications, assisting in the management of developers, supporting the project manager and being actively involved with client demos, end user training and user acceptance testing.
