As the son of missionaries, Alex grew up in Peru immersed in his parent’s work with the poor; an experience which shaped his professional & personal aspirations. Today Alex is Board Chair for Peruvian Partners, a nonprofit established to connect North Americans with Peruvian families that live in abject poverty. He and his wife steward P410 Hospitality, a family holding company comprised of small service-oriented businesses that exist to share God’s love, through kindness and service, in their community. He supports purpose driven entrepreneurs with a desire to build great organizations as a force for good in society.During his 13 years as CEO of Embark BH, his team shifted the business from entirely private pay to majority third party reimbursed, and expanded the initial company (acquired via a search fund) from a single site serving 48 clients annually with 95 employees, to a national leader in youth behavioral health, serving thousands of youths a year, with over 1,600 professionals, & 38 programs in 20 states — leading to a 40-fold increase in revenue (via de novos, organic growth, & acquisitions).Prior to then he was Associate Director of Firm Wide Operations working directly for the President of Cambridge Associates, the world’s largest investment advisory firm to not for profits. Alex has experience in public service having worked at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a U.S. government agency that mobilized private capital to help solve critical world poverty challenges, & he worked on Capitol Hill in Washington DC for a Minnesota Congressman. Alex earned a Certificate of Public Management from Stanford University. And was a Rising Fellow at the Hoover Institution.Alex loves the ocean & he and his kids are certified open water divers. He has served as a Board Fellow at California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium. He graduated with Honors from American University with both an Economic Theory & International Development degree and he earned an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business with a focus on Social Entrepreneurship.
