About Dasuki Aziz
I started out as a Management Trainee at Kuok Singapore Limited (KSL) and underwent a 2-year rotation at the Asian conglomerate's maritime subsidiary, PACC Offshore Services Holdings Ltd (POSH). Being completely new to the maritime industry, the programme with 6 other colleagues was a huge eye-opener which eventually culminated in a secondment to Dammam, Saudi Arabia.Thereafter, I joined Shopee as a relationship manager managing key accounts in the Video Games and Camera categories within the Electronics cluster. Despite the strong tailwinds for e-commerce during the COVID pandemic, supply chain disruptions meant it was difficult to secure stock and competitive prices for customers. Nonetheless, through meticulous planning with sellers and strategic marketing exposures, both the Video Games and Camera categories saw >3x uplift in GMV YoY.As a relationship manager, sellers often complained about logistics issues (i.e. missed pickups, late deliveries) which adversely affected customer experience and that inspired me to take on a new challenge - joining Shopee Express (SPX), Shopee's own integrated 3PL. Having joined SPX when it was first started, we embarked on several exciting initiatives such as the Service Point Programme and getting sellers to adopt SPX as their preferred 3PL. Most notably, working at SPX gave me the opportunity to see e-commerce not just from a commercial perspective but operations as well which I grew to have a greater appreciation for.After a short stint at ShopBack and reassessing my career anchors, I crossed over into the public sector and I'm currently part of the Infocomm Media & Start-up team at JTC, a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) that champions sustainable industrial development in Singapore.Please feel free to send me a message if you’d like to have a chat over coffee.
