Contributed to all things data (science, infrastructure & culture) at a quickly growing, data-rich startup. Joined as second data scientist focused on building new data products for our users. As the company grew I became the go-to person for how Fitbit's unique data could power new products.Worked in an end-to-end research product development context where frequently was required to ideate and prioritize new data-driven products, determine how they could be implemented, build pipelines with python and spark, connect those pipelines to functional prototypes built with flask and d3.js, run tests to measure KPIs, then use that data to make the case to get onto a crowded roadmap to ultimately deliver to users.– Created new machine learning algorithms, tools, and products for prediction, classification, and recommendation with python sklearn, spark, and aws– Pitched and delivered multiple mass-market data stories to demonstrate the efficacy of our products, grow the brand as a data-driven company, and promote recruiting.
