Nashville Metropolitan Area
Created estimates for several Fortune 100 insurance companies relating to property loss claims from any catastrophic occurrence resulting in damage to personal property, residential and commercial. The area was for all the lower 48 states. An inspection would be performed by the contractor. The contractor would provide electronic photos, measurements, scope of work and sometimes a rough drawing. Using Xactware/Xactimate software would write\draw “to scale” diagrams, reports, line item costs, etc. All was accounted for, nothing was left out that was a foreseen task. The estimate, with photos, and diagram(s) were submitted to the adjuster for approval with a detailed explanation of work and why this was necessary to justify the cost of the claim. Was the acting liaison between claims adjusters, the "insured" and the contractors so all parties were in agreement and informed during and after the estimating process. Upon approval would sell the insured on our contractor and get a signed work authorization so the insurance company could release the funds. Any issues as the work began such as unseen damage, hazardous materials, unidentified microbial growth (UMB), etc. would come through me. When this occurred I would address these issues with the adjuster if they involved any additional funds or resources such as remediation, materials, and the like. Often submitting a revised estimate, or supplemental requests for approval.
