There I had to learn French really quickly and I remember learning it from episodes of Les Simpsons and Le Prince de Bel Air. In college I studied German, lived in Germany and learned German from the Ultimate Frisbee team and by talking to people. After college, while on a Fulbright scholarship in Germany, I learned one more language, SAS; setting me up for a 20 year career in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout my life I have sought out experiences that are deeply challenging, enormously complex, involve something I know nothing about and I attack them with a love of learning by any means possible.In my career I'm passionate about the intersection of data and technology and how those two facets can lead to a better life. I'm passionate about healthcare and drug development and dream of a day where there is a frictionless flow of health data to improve human health.In my current role I wear 3 hats.* I build strategic technology roadmaps for the groups of Biostatistics, Data Management, Statistical Programming, Data Standards and Epidemiology* I build a formalized Data Stewardship capability and build the Clinical Data Strategy * I run an initiative management program to progress key process improvement activities across the departmentI thrive in a highly matrixed environment, having to lead without authority. Trust is instrumental to my success and I foster it through open dialog, radical candor and a love for blunt jargon free debate. It's important to me that all whom I work with are empowered and I actively challenge people to grow.
