My fascination with building things began when my father first taught me how DC electricity worked by opening up a flashlight. He didn’t know much about the laws of current but he knew enough to spark the lightbulb in me. 💡Growing up, I was surrounded by unnoticed creators: the 12 years old kid who used simple tools and found objects to build interactive toys based on simple electrical circuits or the neighbor who was making sculptures with found objects. While going to middle school, on the side I was making radio bugs and future city concepts. These experiences eventually led me to engineering, then to designing, and then, oddly enough, towards art.My design process is simple and complex at the same time. I start with exploration: experimenting, testing assumptions, and connecting the dots. I like to invest time at the foundational level to make it simpler for others in the end. I think thoroughly about how my creations will be used, where things can break, how to fix them, how to debug them, and what I can document to help others.I consider thinking and reflecting to be a privilege that we, as creators have. Reflecting should not be separated from making. The monotonous, focused process of “making” takes me into a meditative state. In those moments, I find myself making sense of the world. My close friends call me "the craftsman who is an urban monk" 🐵.When I say "I design things," I mean that I work on designing and prototyping products and concepts with physical and digital interfaces that are meant to be from the near future. I am interested in collaboratively creating experiences that are not currently experienceable. These experiences tend to not have any established norms, guidelines, or language. My father once said, "If you're good at something, try to use its nature or process that makes it good in all aspects of life." As designers, we should create beautiful moments in life, not just objects. This is why I find joy in simple things like cooking for friends, watering plants, and doing chores. The small things we do define us as unique humans and make life worthwhile. If you want to connect and send me a message (which I would love ❤️), you can just call me Datta- sounds cooler! 🤗🧑🏼🎨 Artistic Exploration: https://www.dattasaurabh.com🧑🏼💻 Technical Logs: https://www.dattasaurabh.com/Dump👴🏼 Works on Design Technology and Complexity of Futures: for http://www.automato.farm (retd.)👀 Upcoming: https://dattabaumstudio.com
