Designed and executed various planning, integration, and internal restructuring transactions. Reported variously to Global Head of Tax Planning and Head of Europe, Canada, and Growth & Emerging Markets (EUCAN/GEM) Tax. Directed a multinational team of peers on integration and restructuring transactions. Prepared and presented management briefings and updates as part of Takeda’s internal governance.

Responsible for country by country implementation of integration relating to USD 14B acquisition of Nycomed. Lead to internally restructure commercial entities within Swiss principal structure under a Japanese parent. Reported to Global Head of Tax Planning. Established as part of a team Takeda’s global tax function as well as Takeda’s tax policy.

Supported initial efforts of Takeda to expand into Latin America and Europe organically. Reported to Head of US Tax. Evaluated and analyzed business proposals relating to business expansion and global employee mobility. Responsible for international aspects of US income tax compliance for Takeda US group including foreign tax credit, treaty-based claims for relief, FBAR, and withholding tax documentation.

Sole responsibility for tax planning and compliance reporting to the corporate Controller. Prepared income tax returns and tax provision workpapers, provided audit support, and creation and maintenance of data room for eventual sale of the company.
