Customer Service Representative
Bogotรก, Capital District, Colombia
Customer service representative assisting members of the United HealthCare in USA. My principal task at the job was problem-solving, regarding topics as bad experiences with the insurance, misunderstanding with pharmacies or medical centers and issues with the claims for their medical processes, so I had to think for fast out of the box solutions for the customers, so that their experience kept being wonderful as insurance members. Furthermore, I had easier tasks as assisting with membership payments, educating the members on how they could make a better usage of the benefits in their plans, providing medical center and pharmacy locations near the members, and some other minimal tasks. Being at this job helped me to enhance my english communication skills, since I was all the time talking with native english speakers, and had to get used to understand different dialects in the USA, as well as finding assertive ways to communicate my ideas. In addition, I worked constantly on my soft skills, such as empathy, bad news delivery and building rapport, since most of the people that I talked to were mostly having issues or in a bad mood. Finally, the most useful thing that I learned was to think always for solutions that are not usually in front of me, and building a critical thinking, because I knew that I had in my hands the health of my customers.
