I sold Bionomics Environmental to Water, Civil and Environmental in November 2023. I am still consulting as a noise expert and am looking for new opportunities in business consulting. Please look at my book!I have been the president and owner of Bionomics Environmental for 30 years. Bionomics averaged 12-15 full time employees with as many as 50 employees during field season. Bionomics's main focus was environmental support for infrastructure projects including transportation (airport and roadway), wind turbines parks, and other miscellaneous construction. Our offices were located in Eagle Idaho (I own the building).Personally, I have over 40 years' experience in the safety and environmental industry. I have experience in senior project management, consulting with clients on NEPA issues, noise issues, waste management, regulatory compliance, remediation, and environmental health and safety training. In addition, I have served on numerous zoning commissions, business and homeowners associations, and planning commissions.On a more personal note, I have noticed that many people who write "small business" books do not truly write with a real small business in mind. In fact, some "small businesses," or what they believe to be a small business, sometimes have well over 100 employees. As for the books that are typically geared towards these small businesses, they are geared growing a business into a multi-faceted, billion dollar industry with numerous employees. But, is that the goal for most real small businesses, a "microbusiness," with, at most, a handful of employees and contractors? No. What they want is something that will make their business easier to run and user-friendly. Over my many years as a business owner, I have accumulated many thoughts and ideas as well as templates for various business operations that do just that: make a small business, a "microbusiness," easier to run.
