After 14 years at US Steel in the Steel Producing sector - I’ve decided to leave and to expand on other opportunities available to me. It was a tough decision to make because I loved what did passionately, and the people I worked with became some of my best friends and still are. Full management responsibility for steel production, quality assurance, maintenance, safety & environmental affairs at this ISO 9001-certified plant. Steel Producing Management, Production, Steel Coordinator

BETHLEHEM STEEL/ARCELORMITTAL STEEL BURNS HARBOROversaw all production processes in the forming of molten iron, steel, core elements (manganese, copper, nickel, etc.) and industrial gases (propane, argon, nitrogen, etc.). Responsible for coordinating workflow (all steelmaking activities), delegating assignments, inspecting products for defects and ensuring proper quality based on heat and chemical specifications/applications.* Directed production activities to comply with GMPs, ISO 9001 certification requirements and customer order specifications; coordinated efficient changeovers without sacrificing product quality.* Managed up to 12 hourly employees across four different areas comprised of production shops, maintenance, safety and environmental affairs.* Planned and directed the installation of various Refractory placed materials, orders via Oracle and maintained vendor/supplier relationships to facilitate high-quality materials.* Identified quality problem areas, coordinated root cause investigations, developed quality improvement methods and orchestrated lean production events.

Fulfilled multiple plant roles as an hourly union worker, including bricklaying, heavy equipment operation (overhead cranes, payloaders, forklifts, man lifts) and refractory installations through gunning and casting.

Coordinated the activities of small hourly crews through hands-on direction at this large refractory plant, achieving daily production goals through continuous planning and execution of furnace gunning, casting, bricklaying, installation, design and other critical functions.* Analyzed team performance, equipment operation and production efficiency to develop case-by-case solutions to meeting production goals.* Oversaw the prompt, accurate movement and loading of steel products onto staging areas, flatbed trucks, rail cars and transfer cars.
