It was a tough decision to make because I loved what did passionately, and the people I worked with became some of my best friends and still are. BETHLEHEM STEEL/ARCELORMITTAL STEEL BURNS HARBOROversaw all production processes in the forming of molten iron, steel, core elements (manganese, copper, nickel, etc.) and industrial gases (propane, argon, nitrogen, etc.). Responsible for coordinating workflow (all steelmaking activities), delegating assignments, inspecting products for defects and ensuring proper quality based on heat and chemical specifications/applications.* Directed production activities to comply with GMPs, ISO 9001 certification requirements and customer order specifications; coordinated efficient changeovers without sacrificing product quality.* Managed up to 12 hourly employees across four different areas comprised of production shops, maintenance, safety and environmental affairs.* Planned and directed the installation of various Refractory placed materials, orders via Oracle and maintained vendor/supplier relationships to facilitate high-quality materials.* Identified quality problem areas, coordinated root cause investigations, developed quality improvement methods and orchestrated lean production events.
