Joined the Quality Team in Prelude in the early execute phase of this project. Within the team, I set up the source and shop inspections for the various equipment suppliers (100+), ensured the coordination of inspection was done smoothly, inspection results were distributed and acted upon and quality performance of the suppliers was tracked and followed up, working closely together with inspection provider (Bureau Veritas).

In this position, I have worked in the Inspection Engineering department of Shell Global Solution in the Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) team. My customers range from Shell refineries and offshore installation operators to third-party inspection companies and government agencies:I have undertaken a great variety of activities, amongst others:-Develop PEC instrumentation-Design of inspection and corrosion monitoring strategies-Provide in the field PEC inspection and monitoring services -Develop and conduct training programs of staff and contractors-Negotiate contracts and deal development-Perform ISO9001 quality audits

This position was a follow-up to my earlier internship at Shell Global Solutions. In this function I futher developed the Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) technique, by devloping and building a range of measurement devices for the following applications:-Sphere-leg inspections-High-Temperature corrosion monitoring-Atmospheric storage tank floor inspections-Well tubular inspections at splash-zone

Worked on a 3-month project internship at OCLI in Santa-Rosa California (now JDS-Uniphase) on the re-design of a QA/metering device in the production of thin-film optical coating filters. This resulted in a prototype design that replaced a slow/costly/comlicated metering process by a fast and easy device consisting of off-the-shelf components.

Worked as Design Project Engineer (study Technological Design) on the re-design of a device for Non Destructive Testing. This one-year project resulted in a range of new applications for this device.

Worked as a grad student (study Experimental Physics) on the Rijnhuizen Tokamak project and had the "honour" of witnessing the final plasma before the project was terminated.My Masters thesis was on Impurity Spectroscopy using the Normal Incidence Spectrometer (NIS)
