Head of Asset Delivery for Affinity Water Ltd, leading the delivery of a Utilities sector £470m water infrastructure capital programme to achieve agreed regulatory outputs. Managing the delivery of over 900 projects across the North London Boroughs, East and Southeast of England, 84 direct and over 100 indirect employees, successfully delivering a capital programme from scratch, and achieving significant success in the first years of AMP 5. Pivotal role in an ambitious programme of business improvement activities to ensure process improvement. Developed a suite of Key Performance Indicators to ensure successful delivery and securing in excess of £20m of efficiencies. Change managed the integration of several parts of the business and contractors to form the Integrated Design and Delivery Team. Leader of the team that won the Partnership of the Year Award at the 2013 Water Industry Awards.

Established the framework that enabled the transformation of the existing teams delivering the mains renewal programme in Veolia Water Central, in to a high performing, industry recognised leader in the field.

Undertook a number of roles in the United Utilities regulated business as well as for the outsourcing business in Scotland. Responsible for a recognised high performing team of over 40 Engineers, developing and delivering project designs for the NW40 Quality, Mains Cleaning and General Mains Maintenance Programmes, totalling in excess of £60m per annum. Change managed the functional split between Asset Management and Operations to re-define roles and responsibilities between design and delivery. Led, on behalf of Asset Management, the TUPE of contractor design staff in to the “in-house” design teams. Responsible for the development and management of major capital projects spanning the spectrum of water engineering, including several water treatment works, pumping stations and mains refurbishment with a capital value in excess of £50m.

Managed the design and delivery of over 2000 concurrent projects, programme value £450m with full P&L, ensuring a maximum return on investment for all stakeholders concerned, with continuous customer, political and media recognition of service excellence. Delivered in excess of £30m profit for the joint venture shareholders from delivery of Scottish Waters £450m Infrastructure programme between 2003 – 2006. Successfully led due diligence and performed a key role in contract negotiations for a £900m contract extension to deliver Scottish Waters Q&SIIIa (2006 – 2010) programme. Developed the capital programme for Scottish Water Solutions for the period 2006-2010 and identified key risks, opportunities, deliverability and efficiency predictions for over £700m of SW’s Business Plan. Local Bid Manager in Scotland for a consortia, which comprised four joint venture partners (United Utilities, MWH, Galliford Try and Black & Veatch) bidding for the Scottish Water Solutions 2 (2010 – 2014) contract for Scottish Water’s Q&SIIIb programme.

Resident Engineer duties at several projects. Design, site investigation and construction supervision of several kilometres of trunk mains in Northern Ireland. Managed a team of over 20 Engineers carrying out the detailed survey of approximately 2,000 Landfill sites. Project Managed the North West Water Regional Leakage Initiative. Seconded to the Water Research Centre to Project Manage the NWW Distribution Zonal Planning project. Managed the second phase of the North West Water Distribution Zonal Planning project. Twelve months assignment to North West Water to manage the implementation of their leakage control policy. Twelve-month assignment in Columbo, Sri Lanka managing a detailed survey of the capitals storm water system. Managed the North West Water Regional Sewerage Rehabilitation Review.
