Trends, analytics, data. Since 1991 I have been using past data to project future results with great success. My first project in data was a self-starter within a huge regional bank. As a manager, I had access the company database of customers and in the hours after work I pulled data for months to try and find consumer behavior for those that did and did not have multiple products. The formula I pulled from thousands of customers allowed my group to cut marketing by 47% and increase products taken by 19%. I found the sweet spot in the data for who to target. That model is still in place at Wells Fargo over 20 years later.That work spawned everything else in my work life going forward. I was hired into a regional hospital to find trends and projections for patient recovery modeling. I started a bank merger company that was able to target banks most likely to merge our based on their trends as 97% of bank merger came from less than 10% of certain trend behaviors. Then came college football.I started with recruiting metrics back in 2008 to see how they projected national title winners. That original formula has been correct on 21 of the last 22 national champs and is the no. 1 reason why the focus on recruiting for national title exists. so much in fans and the media. From there, the data set was started and has been built over the last decade to have me access a world of college football achievements.- Started the "Composite Recruiting" craze. In 2008 I coined the phrase and when 247 sports started years later, they ran with it- My first head coach search with an AD was in 2017 (at 1/10th of a search firm cost and with real meaningful data)- Over 2,000 radio segment appearances nationwide since 2012- The first person to roll out a digital CFB season preview magazine- A top 50 apple playlist podcast- The first company to "moneyball" a college football staff. We were given a budget by teh HC to find and build the best ranked coaching staff for the money. - My firm is the only one in CFB to track every coach, play, referee and player performance data since 2010- Matrix Analytical is the leading CFB staff builder in America- My latest work, in July 2022, is using the data to create content for Sportsbook Marketing Directors and drive player engagement.I never settle as the data never stops.
