A lifelong fascination and love of the ocean has made yachting my career choice. I grew up in South Africa but relocated to the UK in 1992. I qualified as a carpenter in London in 1998. Progressed to shipwright⁄boatbuilder with Studies at the I.B.T.C in 1999, 3 year apprenticeship at a full service boatyard in Bermuda, several years with a super yacht restoration/maintenance company in Mallorca, Spain and then on to several boatbuilding companies between Portugal, Spain and UK while running my own business. I have now been with Oyster Yachts since 2017. With this knowledge it has offered me the chance to work in a number of beautiful countries around the globe over the years. During these travels I advanced my skill set as a shipwright and with my sailing experience to an Ocean Yacht Master from race yachts, power to classic yachts on vessels up to 40 meters. I have additionally gained great personnel management and well developed communication skills with clients and vendors through working worldwide and in foreign languages as a boat builder and captain. Through extensive chartering, cruising, racing, construction and refit projects I honed my skills to the high standards, dedication and commitment involved in running and building larger yachts in the North Atlantic to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, North Sea, North West Africa and Southern Atlantic. Fluent English, Afrikaans and acceptable spoken Spanish.
