Widely experienced in the provision of high level emergency response in advanced para-medicine, helicopter rescue and operational fire-fighting over 30 years. Engaged at regional and national level as emergency management advisor. More recently experienced in both open cut and underground mining environments (FIFO) in provision of workplace safety services, fire, rescue, medical functions and training in remote offshore sites for between 750-1300 employees in a sole charge capacity. I have recently joined the expatriate ranks of a high profile heavy equipment company in PNG as part of the senior management team (FIFO). This has exposed me to approx. 600 staff, many of whom have poor, or no English language skills. Most have little in the way of education. I have been deeply involved in training and assessment of heavy equipment operators engaged in civil and construction works and also the management of safety, security, environmental and fire infrastructure projects across geographically dispersed sites. The word 'challenge' is an understatement but I am astounded by the progress made and the respect gained in this dynamic classroom of life.
