I spent many years working in a support role in the computer industry. I started putting together PC clones which progressed to repairing those same computers. I continued repairing PC's then expanded my skills to include Apple computers and printers. I even did repairs with CRT monitors. Due to a downturn in the computer industry, I was forced to endure several lay-offs resulting in periods or unemployment and reduced income. I decided that a change needed to be made so that I could better support my family.I made the decision to enter a career in law enforcement and security. This presented many unique learning opportunities. Through critical situations- including an officer involved shooting and and a separate hostage situation, I have proved my ability to function in high stress situations. Through years of working in jobs that work with customers, clients, victims and suspects, I have developed people skills that allow me to communicate with all ages, races and types of people in a positive way. I have been able to successfully calm volatile situations on many occasions. Through challenging positions and situations, I have developed a strong sense of responsibility, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to teamwork, even in high-pressure environments.
