Born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT, Dave Butterfield attended Mountain West Computer College, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science, Information Technology – Business Application Programming. After graduating, Dave began his career as a programmer for Credit Union System of America. While there, he grew to love IT. He went on to Computer Task Group, and was a software engineer specializing in software development for financial institutions. When CTG was bought out by IBM, Dave moved across the street to the IBM Building and became an “IBM-er”. The clean cut, shirt & tie professional environment suited Dave very well, and he was promoted as the project director over three software development teams. As wise people can attest, bad things happen that turn out to be life’s greatest career opportunities. When IBM laid-off thousands, Dave and his boss were amongst those out of work. Shortly thereafter, Dave’s IBM boss met Mike Brinda at Comdex, and purchased the 15th New Horizons franchise in Salt Lake City. Dave was immediately hired, and his technical background was a fantastic spring board for his new career as an AE. Dave walked the stage as Million Dollar AE his second year. The following year, Dave became the 75th franchisee when he opened up the Albuquerque territory. Shortly thereafter, Dave also opened the Santa Fe territory. After three years, Dave sold those two franchises for a huge ROI.In 2000, Dave opened up the Salt Lake City franchise. His center in SLC went on to become NH’s Rookie Center of the Year, EC Council Center of the Year, Novell’s Western Hemisphere Training Partner of the Year five years straight, Cisco Partner of the Year, as well as many other awards. In Sept 2017, Dave sold his Salt Lake City Center to NH Learning Group and remained on-board as Regional SM. He stayed on board with NH Learning Group for 15 months, showing a 20% year over year revenue increase.On January 3, 2019, Dave joined Go Solar Group as a Closer. His job now entails closing residential solar systems. He became the number one sales person for Go Solar in 2019, closing $2.3m in revenue. He reached all sales and revenue goals, and was awarded an all expense-paid trip for him and his wife in February, 2020. Dave anticipates having another successful year with Go Solar in 2020!
