Enjoy a hugely varied role which has encompassed corporate strategy, children’s services, adult services, public health, cultural services and capital programmes. Over the years I’ve realised that my heart lies in helping children, young people and families to achieve their full potential but good to have the opportunity to champion their needs as part of a broader agenda.

Working to the Chief Executive and Management Team led the development of £152m savings proposals to be delivered by April 2018. Led County Council transformation programme including workforce planning and leadership and management restructure delivering over £11m annual savings.

Based within Directorate for Children and Young People. Led services including information and performance, business support services, governance, workforce strategy, Children and Young People's Trust Partnerships and social care complaints. County Council Strategic Lead for children and young people in Wyre District. Directorate's lead for 'The Lancashire Way' engagement and culture change programme. County Council's 'Manager of the Year'.

Led services within the Directorate for Children and Young People including traded services with schools, business services and ICT. Delivered efficiencies in excess of £1m pa through introduction of new technologies, improved process and culture change, whilst maintaining or improving services.

Led small team, working closely with Corporate ICT services, to implement and embed new technologies within children's, education and cultural services. Dual role as County Council's Corporate Information Manager, leading on Information Governance and for introduction of electronic records management system. County Council lead on Cumbria and Lancashire a Education Online (CLEO) Regional Broadband Consortium ensuring appropriate governance and contracts in place.

'Client' lead for ICT within the District Audit Service, providing services to an agile workforce of around 1200 staff working from sites across England and Wales. National role, working closely with technical ICT teams based in Bristol and London based Corporate services team.

Led the rollout of laptops and first implementation of email and electronic audit tools for around 1200 District Audit staff based in offices throughout England and Wales. Hands on approach, including delivery of briefings, initial training and support workshops nationwide.

North West England

CIPFA qualified. Undertook financial and value for money audits in local authorities and NHS organisations throughout the North West.
