Project Engineer
The area I worked on was Lot D which consisted of four 6 to 8 storey buildings with a total of 288 apartments, townhouses and retail spaces, an underground carpark, a gym and pool, surrounded by landscaping on podium.

The project is also upgrading three Heritage Listed buildings on a 35,000 square meter site to provide educational facilities for visual arts students, an art gallery and student workshop.The new building is constructed with high quality finishes including off form white concrete, a zinc paneled facade and an external blinds controlled by the BMS to manage light and temperature levels within the facility.
Site Engineer/Site Supervisor
During this period I was conducting both the Site Engineering and Site Supervisor roles at the Defence Force's Enhanced Landforce Stage 2B Project.The site consisted of seven single and double level buildings ranging from 210 square meters up to 26,000 square meters and were constructed for purposes including, vehicle storage, vehicle servicing workshops, communication command centres, secure vault storage rooms, hazardous material storage facilities, conference rooms, and educational training facilities.I began works on the project as the majority of the building core structures were underway, therefore my main roles included managing the Subcontractors and design coordination for the facade and fitout works as well as overseeing the placement 8,000 cubic meters of external pavements and the instillation of two HV substations which on average involved a workforce of 120 daily.
Sole Trader
Operating as a Sole-Trader I regularly worked on projects including shop and office fit-outs, major renovations of hotels and pubs and residential joinery works throughout Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne. I opened and operated a small factory to produce the joinery, and carried out all installations with a small team of Shopfitters. Skills learnt during this period include;- Developing a keen eye for detail- An understanding and appreciation of the importance of accurate and thorough sequencing and planning of construction works- Working as a team member in team environments- Learning to work in with other trades and sequence tasks to suit- Working in pressure situations and prioritising tasks- Developing problem solving skills - Meeting with customers and Project/Site Managers- Reading and working from construction plans- Ordering of materials and dealing with suppliers- Building a sound knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
