I design low noise phased arrays for radio astronomy.

Currently adapting thirty-eight element dual-polarized PAF models for cryogenic cooling in association with engineers from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO).Developed a model within Ansoft's HFSS software package that matched previous experimental results for a nineteen element phased array feed (PAF) mounted on reflector.Designed software models and optimization techniques for active impedance matching a nineteen element PAF at L-band. The optimized elements were constructed and tested with hot-cold Y-factor techniques before being mounted and proven at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto. Utilized various Matlab optimization techniques in association with HFSS to design and active impedance match several variations of a thirty-eight element dual-polarized phased array - one of which was used on the Arecibo telescope.Modeled and optimized a low noise, dual-polarized eleven feed at 750MHz for the Arecibo Observatory.
