In June 2011 I moved to the Atlas SAP-FICA Team as a Functional Consultant. This role was chosen because of my earlier finance expertise on Atlas, CIB and LCIS. It involves overnight batch support, fixing defects, enhancing Atlas by way of implementing RFC’s. I work in a team of 5 each with a dedicated work area, though there is an element of cross over.I have worked on legacy data migration in the ETL area, identifying and cleansing data that wouldn't fit into the SAP data model.

In September 2005 I took up the permanent position of Analyst Programmer and was promoted to Senior Analyst Programmer in July 2007 within RED.In December 2008 I moved on secondment to the Atlas project working on the Legacy/Heritage team. My main tasks is to ensure that legacy systems being retained after Atlas go-live would successfully interface with Atlas in the SAP world. I have produced functional specifications and knowledge shared on systems I am familiar with while investigating, documenting and understanding systems I’d previously had no exposure to.

I rejoined nPower following the company decision to enhance their Customer Integrated Billing (CIB) system. Using all the skills I had previously used on this site I have also written Functional and Program Specifications as part of their migration in of gas and electricity customers from legacy systems.I took up the position on an initial six month contract which was renewed.

I reverted to a permanent position at Northern Rock because I was not expecting a contract offer from nPower, due to migration of the system I was responsible for.I took up a permanent position as an Analyst Programmer in the Business Systems department working on an ICL mainframe, writing in Cobol and SCL correcting live faults, enhancements and project co-ordinating roles.

3 month contract with Northern Information Systems (I.T. Department of Northern Electric) supporting their LCIS (Large Customers Information System), POS (Point of Sale) and GBRS (Group Billing Recording System) systems.Live support and maintenance of the billing and recording system for customers supplied by Northern Electric. A version of this system is also used by Northern Ireland Electric for whom second line support is provided.As a member of a team of four I am responsible for writing program specifications, coding using Ingres 4GL version 6.4, SQL, Microfocus Cobol, unix shell and report writer. The system is located on a Sequent server. As well as day to day maintenance, I am responsible for actioning fault reports, change requests and working to ISO 9000 quality standards.From March 2000 this role extended to a Team Leader’s role which I retained for 3 years, through 12 month contract extensions.

May 88 - July 91Executive Officer in ITSA Computer Services Group. I worked as an Analyst/Programmer using SDM and COBOL predominantly in a batch processing environment, although some transaction processing was used. Involving the maintenance of the National Insurance Recording System, actioning change requests and enhancements to the system from users as well as fault reports.July 91 - Dec 95Programmer/Analyst Designer in Information Technology Services Agency (ITSA), an Executive Agency of the Department of Social Security, involved in the development and maintenance of the following projects: Financial Information Systems/Consolidation (FIS/C) was developed for Contributions Agency to provide a uniform budgetary control system capable of consolidating financial and workload information, thereby enabling efficiency to be monitored in financial terms. The system has also been taken on by the Child Support Agency and War Pensions (Norcross) for the same purpose.My responsibilities, as part of a team which varied between 10 and 20 people, was for writing program specifications, coding using Ingres 4GL Version 6.4, SQL, Embedded SQL in 'C', AIX Shell and Ingres Reportwriter, unit testing, system testing using Automator QA, user support during User Acceptance Testing, Quality Assurance of specifications, code and test plans written by other team members. The system was developed on an IBM rs6000/550 box.I was solely responsible for successful transfer of the FIS/C system from DSG(NE) to the Livingston support team. As well as the physical transfer of system documentation I supplied the support staff with training to enable continuing support.Dec 95 - Oct 96CAPS Programme - Using VME skills successful Service Testing was completed for the first two releases of the Cards Payment System, working long hours with tight and ever changing deadlines, no slippage was encountered
