Manager- Adult Protective Services Unit (Washington County OR) Dept. of Human Services Responsible for the largest State APS unit in Oregon. Our office investigates allegations of abuse/ neglect in both community and facility settings. Oversee hiring, training and daily management of 14 investigators and 2 support staff. Partner with the DA's office, local law enforcement and mental health agencies to coordinate cases and resources. Conduct training and outreach in community and educational settings. Present topics at various panels and symposiums to police and health care partners. Review all reports and screening decisions. Provide performance reviews for all staff. Provide management support to all other units within the Aging and People with Disabilities office.

Planned, organized, oversaw and provided assistance on projects to resolve potential security and safety problems. Oversaw an organization of 9 direct reports, 70+ internal personnel, and over 150 contract officers that protected over 10,000 employees globally. Planned and maintained a budget of approx. $6M annually. Coordinated training tasks with managers to ensure 100% coverage on regulatory certification criteria. Performed and directed audits to detect and identify security and safety risks. Conducted investigations both domestically and abroad. Developed and managed security systems layouts and installations based on risk assessments and site evaluations on a worldwide basis. Handled executive protection details for VIPs travelling overseas or speaking at major corporate events. Developed presentations and reports for the CEO, VPs and Board of Directors. Conducted background investigations for specialty hires. Co-developed the anti-counterfeit program to identify bad parts and seize them. Prepared security assessment audits for major customers. Managed internal security teams and Security Operations Center in Beaverton and Hillsboro, Oregon. Filled in as acting Security Director when current Director was unavailable or out of the country. Developed policies and procedures for physical security operation, along with Emergency Response Team interface for HAZMAT chemical incidents in the Beaverton Fab. Maintained all CCTV and Access Systems in use at both locations. Coordinated all supply and capital equipment orders for both locations. Conducted all DPSST required State Security Training. Responded to various medical emergencies and chemical spill events. Coordinated and implemented security measures to meet required International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements relating to the manufacturing security of military specific parts and other protocols. Developed security scenario training for officers that was then implemented at all US locations. Conducted local investigations as needed.

Supervised the Beaverton, OR Security Operations Center and the 8 officers assigned there. Developed the first internal security force at Maxim from a problematic contract setting. This model was then rolled out to other US locations. Created new policy and procedures manual for all officers. Designed an in-house Field Training Officer program. Implemented scenario training for all officers to improve customer service, observation and medical response skills. Conducted DPSST training, as well as First Aid, CPR and AED certification training. Maintained all security systems for a 24/7 hazardous coded facility for 100% readiness. Scheduled all staff. Filled in on all shifts as an officer when necessary.
