Dave Chisholm has experience in both academic and commercial environments. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University where he studied music, software development and audio engineering. He also has two graduate degrees: an M.Phil. from Columbia University with a focus on computer vision and machine learning, and an M.S. from the City University of New York with a focus on digital signal processing and time-frequency analysis. He has co-authored several journal papers and worked as a scientific researcher at the SRI laboratory in Princeton, NJ.Dave’s full time professional career began shortly after graduating from Stanford, when Geoffrey Industries (now Vanderbilt Technologies) hired him as a software developer on the Schlage Security Management System (SMS) product. He worked on both the front and backend of the system, developed the product's redundancy features, and interfaced directly with customers on critical projects. After three years as a developer, he was promoted to director of software engineering, and managed all software development on the product for another four years. Dave then worked as an independent consultant, completing projects such as integrations between elevator and access control systems, penetration and security tests, and new product design specifications. He worked as the Director of Technical Services for Security Control Integrators for six years, and recently joined Allegion as an OEM Integration Engineer.
