I joined the London Electricity Board in 1978 as an Electrical Fitting Apprentice and worked at all voltages from LV to 132kV. Based initially in Wimbledon and later moving to Bengeworth Road. The range of work included fault repair, maintenance, construction at all voltages.In 1988 I became a Senior Instructor at in Camden Town and I was responsible for training apprentices in the installation and maintenance of equipment to be found on the London Distribution Network. We also undertook the retraining of adult staff and the creation of new training such as the New Road and Streets Works Act. I was tasked to create a course and ensure the Training Centre was City & Guilds approved.After working at the Training Centre for 10 years I joined Asset Management as a Technical Engineer responsible for non operational policy in City Road and management of the companies ISO9000 document management system With the formation of 24seven , I moved responsibility. My role was to approve LV plant. During this time the contestable market was starting to develop and I was made responsible for the adoption of third party provided installation onto the network.When EDF acquired See-board my job expanded and included the creation of specifications of civil assets as well as LV Equipment.In 2007 I joined the Logistics Team at Bury St Edmunds and was responsible for the management of the heavy plant assembly and delivery process. This involved running a helpdesk, plant assembly team and dealing with customer issues.In 2009 as part of a major program I lead a team to establish a centralised cable yard and delivery solution as the Technical and Development Manager. My role now includes Contract Management, Distribution Centre Management, Customer Support, Technical Support and development of new opportunities for the whole Logistics Team.
