As a full-time Public Affairs Officer with the Canadian Forces, a vast amount of experience has been gained at the tactical, operational and strategic level. Specialty knowledge exists in crisis communications, the employment of social media strategies, communication campaign development and management, employment of communication in counter terrorism/counter insurgency, the employment of imagery in communications and working in whole-of-government, multinational and coalition environments. Concurrent to this knowledge are the leadership qualities expected of a Canadian Forces officer in today’s dynamic environment including team building, adaptability to change and ability to motivate a team to meet the organisations objectives in any environment.Key highlights include leading capability development at NATO, advisor to the Chief of the Defence Staff and defence diplomacy experience at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, DC. Deployments to Haiti, Afghanistan and Kuwait demonstrate experience working on internationally sensitive files and an ability to deal with crisis situations. As a former teacher I bring vast experience in education, helping to develop and deliver training programs for NATO and with experience teaching at the high school and college level in both England and Kuwait.
