• I write content for a number of eCommerce websites, including Trail Outdoor Leisure, Core Balance Fitness, and Christow Home & Garden, all of which are part of TII Brands.• My role requires me to write descriptions for products on all three websites. This includes camping, home fitness, furniture, and garden equipment. I am also adept at uploading content to our CMS (content management system), Magento.• I use Google Ad Words, Search Console and Moz SEO to research keywords and maximise the SEO potential of the products we sell. • I have been on an SEO training course and have applied the skills acquired to the content I produce. This has significantly improved the search rank of our product pages on Google.• Products are also listed on marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon and Mano Mano. • For products sold on Amazon, I am able to edit content and update information using Channel Advisor and Amazon Seller Central. • I also have some knowledge of Google Analytics. However, this is an area I could do with exploring further if it’s necessary to do so.• I also write blogs and user guides for our eCommerce websites.

I wrote a regular music feature for the Mid-Devon Advertiser. This was a voluntary position which required me to report on local gigs and festivals. I enjoyed writing for the paper and my content was well received. Sadly, I couldn’t maintain my commitment due to my workload at Wilton Bradley.

• In 2009, I launched an entertainment website, featuring obscure album and film reviews. The website also featured tongue-in-cheek reviews of TV and radio shows, including Jools Holland.• This was during a period of unemployment when I was preparing to move away from London.• The website gained a steady increase in traffic, thanks in part to a growing understanding of web-based promotion and social media platforms. • Twitter, Stumbled Upon and Facebook were among the social media platforms I used to promote my website. • Links to my website, which is no longer active, were featured on the BBC website.• I also wrote freelance articles for a variety of independent blogs and websites.

I joined Notion Magazine as an intern and was rewarded with a permanent contract after four months. My role as Online Content Manager required me to carry out the following duties:• Updating the website with news stories, gig previews, gig reviews, album reviews, and features.• Editing images on photoshop to accompany written content. Uploading them to the website. • Liaising with PR companies to promote their artists/products and sell print and online ad space. • Working with marketing to produce content for brands and seal sponsorship deals.• Writing content for the magazine, assisting with research, and presenting ideas for publication.

• Rebranding the magazine to comply with target audience and improve circulation. • Regularly meeting with an unpaid team of students to discuss fresh ideas for copy. • Researching students’ photography, art and journalism work.• Offering them an opportunity to display their work in print, demonstrate their skills to a wider audience and further promote the university. • Writing, proof-reading and editing content. • Meeting with a team of student graphic designers to polish the finished product. • Contacting renowned writers or artists for magazine exclusives. This included a feature by author Razor Smith about life behind bars and the modern prison system.

• Conducting research for the magazine’s pre-season supplement (contacting football clubs and supporters’ clubs).• Transcribing interviews for inclusion in the magazine, including taped interviews with the presenter Ray Stubbs and regular columnist Sir Bobby Robson. • Monitoring transfer and club news on the television and internet for the magazine’s pre-season supplement. • Cutting out and archiving newspaper articles for future reference.
