I am an experienced consultant, specialising in data science, machine learning, AI, statistical analysis and customer insight. I have a PhD in machine learning, am a Chartered Engineer and have over 20 years’ experience in various consulting and developer roles: a wide range of businesses and functions including energy, retail, banking, credit risk, insurance, telecoms, healthcare and marketing; as part of a team or independent; on assignments from designing and prototyping to deployment and monitoring; including skills transfer, supervision and mentoring. Projects have covered many aspects of data science incorporating: advanced statistics (e.g. Bayesian & time-series models); state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs); machine learning (e.g. regression, ensemble models & clustering); data wrangling, visualisation & reporting, i.e. synthesising customer insight from numerous, extensive & disparate data sources.Recent projects have also comprised the development of an application and/or extensive Python libraries encompassing phases from R&D and prototyping through to scale-up & deployment.
