I used to be a Development engineer, specialising in retrofit parts for Mass Spectrometers, so I have a strong scientific background, and practical experience of manufacturing prototype components. I had a paper published in JM Wiley "advances in Mass Spectrometry" for my work on fast atom bombardment systems. I took a sabbatical to become a motorcycle instructor, but this developed into a full time career, where I rose through the ranks to become regional manager, before being made redundant when the owner retired and the company closed down. I stayed in the industry for a few more years as an operations manager for motorcycle training company, before deciding that I needed a change, and joined easyJet. I stayed at Gatwick for 9 years, then went to Barcelona when the base opened there, and returned to Gatwick approximately two years later, and remained there until voluntary redundancy in 2020.My hobbies still include motorcycles, riding, repairing, and restoration. I love reading, especially history, Sci fi, and detective books. I keep fit with calesthenics and walking. I like to ski and I have recently taken up kayaking, but only in calm waters.
