I work with my wife in our artisan soap and creams business in Hayfield. We make a range of Simply Botanical Skincare and traditional cold pressed soaps. Our creams, soaps and serums are packed full of good quality ingredients, frequently organic, plant oils and botanical extracts.All our products are suitable for vegetarians and all except the lip balms are suitable for vegans. They do not contain any parabens or harsh chemicals and are all tested on family and friends!We are a small, artisan company based in the village of Hayfield in the heart of the beautiful High Peak District. I was Programme Leader for BSc(Hons) Professional Sound and Video Technology, based at MediaCityUK.In the past I have been Director of Admissions for the School of Computing, Science and Engineering, responsible for programme development and part of the University of Salford MediaCityUK delivery team.

I designed and developed two mobile robots, Fred and Ginger, that jointly carried a tray with a glass of wine across a room. The research resulted in two appearances on the BBC programme Tomorrow's World.

I design industrial scale energy management systems. My responsibility was the user interface to our control unit. I also worked on integrating the energy management unit with a fire monitoring system.
