My cousin recently shared a story about his squash buddy who sold him an endowment policy shortly after finishing Varsity. Seven years into a 10 year term he discovered that the policy was just about worth as much as he had paid in himself. This brokerage closed down when the broker principal suddenly went overseas. I then elected to open my own brokerage and employed a few representatives over the years, some of whom became very successful in marketing PPS. My practice was built on catering exclusively to professional clients using PPS as a โfoot in the doorโ. Over a period of ten years I consistently achieved awards for both quantity and quality of business written with both PPS and Sanlam and established a significant client base (roughly 400 clients) of high net worth individuals. I decided to move to the UK in late 2007 and sold my brokerage to a fellow PPS marketer Ulf Freitag. Ulf is still an active marketer of PPS in Natal.
