At Synamedia I was a Program and Operations Manager with responsibility for Open Source Licence Compliance Process across the engineering teams (approx. 2000 engineers in 6 countries), and was responsible for 5 external audits.• I owned the Open Source Licence Compliance process and created a program of work with the engineering teams to implement the process for their products.• I significantly increased the level of Open Source Licence compliance, ensuring the company’s obligations were met.• I liaised with stakeholders, defined and implemented improvements to the process and supporting tools to increase automation and streamline the process.• Collaborated with internal legal team on complex open source licences.• Engaged with the internal M&A team to identify Open Source licencing issues in the source code owned by potential acquisition targets.• Acted as primary contract to the vendor providing key tooling for the process (Synopsys Black Duck Hub).• Subject Matter Expert for the process, 3rd party tooling (Synopsys Black Duck) and Open Source Licences.In addition I had responsibility for 5 external audits (“System and Organisation Controls” Type 2) of 2 of Synamedia’s ‘aaS’ products. The audits covered all aspects Synamedia’s business, and all audits were completed successfully with no or minor findings. As part of this I:• Managed cross functional stakeholders to provide evidence and answer follow up requests for all aspects of the SOC2 audits.• Liaised with external auditors to timely provide requested information.• With stakeholders identified plan of action / remediation for any findings.

I was a Program Manager driving transformation, operational efficiency, quality and compliance with the Service Provider Video Software and Solutions division ("SPVSS"). As part of the Engineering Operations team, I collaborated across a global team of approx. 2700 engineers in 7 countries:• I successfully identified, reviewed and approved all source code, artefacts, systems and data owned by SPVSS for transfer to the new company (“Synamedia”) formed by Cisco’s divestiture of SPVSS. To achieve this I consulted and negotiated with all of SPVSS’s engineering teams, and with the Cisco Divestiture team.• I collaborated and supported Synamedia’s IT project managers to successfully migrate all identified data with minimal impact to the engineering teams.• I drove the adoption of optimised tools and processes across engineering (GitHub adoption, resource, project and product management processes).• I drove compliance (Open Source Licensing) and supported external audits (ISO9001) of engineering teams.• I collaborated with global cross functional and cross regional teams, both within SPVSS and the wider Cisco community.

As a project manager I successfully delivered multiple releases of several areas of functionality within NDS’s headend solution. I negotiated and liaised with cross region engineering teams, internal stakeholders and internal customers to deliver the required functionality. In addition I managed a team of senior engineers creating and delivering ‘hot-fixes’ to customers to resolve critical issues.• Managed multiple projects to deliver new end-to-end functionality, and to research / demonstrate new technologies.• Provided leadership & direction to the teams, and mentored and supported the team members.• Improved quality through Root Cause Analysis, KPIs and increasing test automation.• Line managed a team of 12 test engineers – temporary 12 month assignment.

I managed a team of 6-8 highly skilled software engineers developing complex products ((highly multithreaded C/C++/Java/Unix/Linux) within NDS’s headend solution. I negotiated and prioritised product improvements with internal stakeholders, delivered multiple complex releases to supported internal customers and supported releases through to customer deployment.
