Highly experienced Company Director with five successful starts-ups ranging from electronic engineering to recruitment, four of them as managing director. First class honours degree in electronic engineering from the University of Sheffield.I began my working life as a graduate engineer at Marconi Electronic Devices in Lincoln before spreading my wings and becoming a director at CJ Controls in Swansea. Returning to Lincoln, I spent a year lecturing in electronics at Lincoln College before starting both Topaz Electronic Systems and Pretorian Technologies. Topaz is a manufacturer of chips and resetter units for inkjet cartridges, which won a prestigious Queen's Award for International Trade in 2009. Pretorian was originally an industrial trackball manufacturer (and still is) but then diversified into products for the disabled, which is a space I love to be in. There are few things in life quite as rewarding as helping those who have been a little less fortunate in life and I am very proud of what Pretorian has become. Pretorian is the current winner of the Made in Lincolnshire (World Class) awards.In 2014 I became the volunteer Losses Archivist at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln with responsibility for capturing the names of the 58,500 young men and women who paid the ultimate price on the strength of Bomber Command, and for collecting almost 5 million pieces of data on their short lives. I regard this as my greatest accomplishment and I am currently writing a book on the subject- a 450,000 word, two-volume tome entitled "A Few Among Many". I also enjoy lecturing on the subject of Bomber Command and my Christmas Lectures have rapidly become a benchmark with enthusiasts travelling the length and breadth of the country to attend. In 2019 I became a Trustee at IBCC as well as continuing in the Losses Archivist role.I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA)
