CurrentArchitecture and Land Development: Responsible for all conceptual and architectural designs for 2.8 billion-dollar company with over 160 sites in 6 states. Developed several new prototype stores including interior design and décor, now set as standard company wide. Facilitate all collaboration during designs with multiple vice presidents, in-house staff, and external engineering firms. Facilitated all collaborative development with multiple in-house departments, as well as external entitlement agencies. Departments include food service, pharmacy, HBA, customer service, grocery, deli, produce, banks, restaurants, and fuel service. Manage, mentor and develop a staff of 9 architects plus over 30 outside engineering firms. Managed and vetted new products and materials for all projects to achieve desired results. Prepared and presented special reports to Senior Management, outside industrial and technical groups, as well as government agencies. Responsible for setting internal policies and procedures.Branding: Lead role in branding effort to change the position of Weis Markets in the hierarchy of the current competition. Provide leadership in a company-wide collaborative effort to re-invent the look feel and image of Weis Markets.Planning and Zoning: Responsible for obtaining all entitlements from local state and federal agencies. Expedited permit process and local code and design review. Presented and successfully advocated proposed master plan projects to multiple reviewing agencies. Track, schedule and predict accurate timelines for budget and construction.Construction: Collaborate with contractors on value engineering to reduce building cost by 15%. Preform site visits and run contactor meetings during construction. Facilitate system to review/answer RFI’s and preform conflict management during construction.Store Size: 12,000 sq. ft. to 100,000 sq. ft. Over 7,000,000 sq. ft. total. Design and maintain warehouse facilities over 1,000,000 sq. ft.
