Continuing from construction of the Kirby North Project through to starting up and operating the facility including responding to plant upsets, issuing hazard assessments, isolating and locking out equipment for maintenance, monitoring and controlling processes and sampling and testing water and produced emulsion in the oil treatment plant.

Providing consulting services for small contractors, EPC houses and owners on a number of oilsands and heavy industrial construction projects ranging in size from $1 million to $1.6 billion from planning through to closing. Scope of responsibility has included:- Defining systems in conjunction with operations and commissioning and integrating these definitions into existing software (e.g. QEDI, WINPCS, SmartPlant) or spreadsheets and databases on smaller scale projects,- Developing inspection and testing plans, inspection packages and final dossier formats in cooperation with discipline specific quality specialists,- Providing construction, quality and engineering support in the tracking of progress and management of information, including ad hoc reporting and data analysis,- Monitoring and verifying field level activities and documentation to ensure safety, quality, schedule and budget, - Leading field construction inspections and monitoring and coordinating the completion of deficiencies,- Procurement and supply chain management including sourcing new suppliers, material take-off from engineered drawings, vendor pre-qualification, vendor quality surveillance, receiving inspections and preservation and maintenance monitoring,- Ensuring minimal lag time between construction activities and the subsequent quality inspection, release and submittal of required documentation through direct involvement at the field level and effective communication with construction, quality and operations teams,- Managing inter-disciplinary and inter-contractor releases and transfers to ensure quality and schedule requirements are met,- Reviewing final quality and engineering documentation and preparing completion packages,- Involvement in final close-out of contracts in coordination with project controls team.

Working as the completions lead with a strong, skilled and talented team, we successfully turned over and saw the start-up of all systems in four simultaneously executed, heavily schedule driven projects as part of Phase I of Suncor's high profile $1.2 billion Tailings Reduction Operation.
