Bom & Configurations Engineer
Currently working in the BoM configuration team focusing on feature management, this includes developing Product definition documentation and the creation of feature codes, thus ensuring the BoM is structured to support all standard and optional conditions, these codes also assure cars are configured within legal and technical constraints for over 60 markets around the globe, I have total responsibility in this field for a series of cars.I have been involved in many aspects of automotive manufacturing systems and processes from the initiation of new model project developments to Aftermarket support. Having a vast experience of both SAP and VW systems including extensive knowledge of their interfaces and how they influence downstream systems and customer has resulted in me being key lead for Engineering problem solving issues and new cross-functional projects. I’ve developed internal systems and reports specific to Bentley’s unique requirements as well as being accountable for four VW group systems used by many colleagues, this role also involves representing Bentley at VW group meeting, being the systems owner, trainer and first point of contact. Experienced and/or working knowledge of: Part numbering, BoM structuring, Change management, Colour management, Prototype and Cost control models, ECU version management, these are in addition to over 20 years as a configuration expert.
