I managed a portfolio of several Amazon facilities spread around the South East of England, whereby I performed the functions of FM, Engineering SME, and Hard & Soft services contract manager.

I was responsible for managing the delivery of the Engineering functions whilst on shift, these principally comprise of Baggage handling, Building Services, Aeronautical Ground Lighting & the Track Transit System. This Duty role also entailed the managing of contractors through the Permit-To-Work system, which could also be on behalf of those without technical knowledge, such as the retail department.I had 13 direct report shift staff, that were split across their relevant specialist departments. I was responsible for their performance and development both as a shift team, and as individuals. In addition to this Duty role, I was responsible for the TTS as a separate business unit in terms of performance, facilities management, P&L as well as compliance. That included managing all TTS staff across all shifts with regards to their Safety Critical Worker training, and adherence to the Safety Management System, as required by the ORR (Railways Act) operating licence.

I held responsibility for both the Aeronautical Ground Lighting & Track Transit System departments, ensuring that each deliver cost effective maintenance, whilst complying with the relevant laws & guidelines. These include documents such as those mandated by the Office of Rail Regulation & the UK Civil Aviation Authority. I managed 33 direct report staff, consisting of Electrical / Electronic Engineers, Electro-mechanical Engineers, and pure Mechanical Engineers. I held accountability for all staff matters including disciplinary actions and appraisals, training and personal development, and succession planning.In this role I also managed a small number of very specialized contractors, and held the P&L accountability for these as well as my two separate business units.

As a member of the ‘AGL’ Team, I was responsible for the day to day maintenance operations of the AGL systems inline with CAP168 and ICAO Annex 14 requirements. Also support of the associated Aircraft related periphery such as docking systems, ground power systems, standby generators, and other associated electrical / electronic systems that reside within an airport

I was responsible in a supervisory & mentoring role for the other technicians and apprentices, and also acted as a customer interface for the department. The department maintained the security screening equipment, X-Ray (CAT) machines, particle analyzers and metal detecting equipment, and all associated computer & network systems. I had to provide on-the-job training to my Team as well as orchestrate 3rd party training to maintain compliance.
