Becoming a point of contact to answer internal and external queries re getting the best for our clients internally and externally from our connected venues around the world.Planning and implementation of changes to the rapidly expanding Anylive network.I'm sure much more as the job evolves.

Still operational as with the Engineer job, but now have a lead input into Scheduling, Leave requests, improvements to existing infrastructure and input to the rapidly developing fibre infrastructure.Deal more with SiS Live bookings department advising on the best way to manage sat space with sat comms, ISDN & Audio Over IP devices, plus any other query they may have directed towards the MCR.Becoming a bit of an expert with the excellent Net Insight Nimbra system, together with Vodafone, Virgin Media, SSE & EuNetwork fibre networks. Also, became the Lead for the BT MPLS system we have.We're currently providing UHD sports events via satellite, via IP delivery and also via baseband video delivery into our AnyLive Nimbra network. The network is ever expanding and includes broadcasters, sporting venues, entertainment venues both in the UK and the Americas, Australia, Asia & Europe.

MCR Engineer working in the only 24/7/365 MCR in the MediaCItyUK Complex.Varying duties including Satellite Downlinks, Uplinks, Horse Racing, Dog Racing & OBs using the BT MPLS Network connectivity or satellite space.SiS also provide 80 hours per day every day of horse or dog racing to the UK, European and worldwide betting shop communities, with either fixed link IP services to MCR or via satellite.Another part of the MCR duty is the adhoc bookings for sat space and either uplinking or downlinking in either baseband or ASI and possibly passing it to one of the UK or European broadcastors via the BT MPLS network we have. This can also be achieved with Sat Comms as well, linked into ISDN or TBUs.As a 24/7 MCR we also are the out of hours contact for SiS & SiS Live and provide first line support for things such as the uPod system used by ITV/ITN, sat space management for any of our clients etc/

Employed as a CTA Engineer at BBC Manchester, looking after TV, Radio, local and Network transmissions.Used BNCS - an ideal solution to control of many bits of equipment. Then as BBC Manchester was closed responsible for the technical decommission of the CTA area and then the rest of the building.Moved to BBC North at MediaCItyUK, primarily worked as a iCTA Engineer, helping the various departments achieve their transmission goals - noticable moments include BBC Sport Euros, Breakfast, Olympics.

Inherited the Granada MCR after they shut it, worked on such classics as the First Leaders Debate, 50th Live Coronation Street and many other ITV & BBC transmissions from the Quay Street Studios. Instrumental in many devlopments of file transfers, FTP of rushes etc, streaming of such. File delivery for compliance, Subtitling etc.Developed the Post Post Production deliveries of Coronation Street once it had gone HD.The pivitol figure in the way that file deliveries were done and then copied at ITV Granada.Looked after a department of 6, then 4, scheduling issues, liaising with Clients to achieve their goals in the minimum time and expense. Offered advice to many colleagues on how to achieve the world we had coming in.Keeper of the technical standards that made Granada TV the company it was, despite all others trying to ignore it due to cost issues put upon them. Also became responsible for maintenance, project design, suggestion in investment for the department especially when ITV moved to HD !

Telecine transfers & a small degree of colour grading.Involved in the versioning of Local & Network promotions.Technical Preview / Reviews of ITV, BBC, C4 & Sky programmes.
