I have been a Vice President of Operations for L3 Technologies, an international provider of communication and electronic systems and products in the military and commercial sectors.Throughout my 25-year career with L3 Technologies, I have utilized Lean Manufacturing root cause analysis and corrective action plans to reduce cycle times and streamline systems. Most recently, I applied this approach to significantly grow our supply chain while dramatically improving MRO rates. I leaded the Operations area and a fully integrated manufacturing/assembly operations team to effectively support 30 simultaneous projects while maintaining quality, improved cycle time and reduced costs.I began my career with L3 Technologies as Director of Quality, where I reorganized the manufacturing flow process and managed multiple special projects for improved quality and operational efficiency. After 6 years, I was promoted to Director of Materials, Purchasing and Information Technologies and was accountable for materials procurement for all programs. I moved into the role of Senior Director of Quality and Information Technologies 4 years later and led the ISO conversion to ensure alignment with military specifications. Utilizing Lean Manufacturing, I drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies through design, integration, build, production, repair and maintenance of electronic aerospace display and support systems. Our company is a worldwide contractor in aerospace systems and the leading provider of communication and electronic systems used in military and commercial platforms. Directing 8-member leadership group, I manage an integrated manufacturing/assembly and sales operation that is supported by 175 employees and includes manufacturing engineering, materials, domestic and international supply chain, manufacturing, pilot production, maintenance/repair/operations and estimating. Under my leadership, our division’s supply chain has grown by more than 75%, effectively managed MRO to achieve a 98% yield rate for units remaining in the field past warranty and averaged a 10% reduction in material budgets.I manage a large multi-million dollar overhead budget to support 30 simultaneous programs, while ensuring improved cycle time and reduced costs.
