As our corporate Group SHE's Waste Management Global Lead, I have the responsibility for being protective of the lives and health of our employees, the environment and our assets. Group goals include the minimization and elimination of hazardous (chemical) and non-hazardous (general ) wastes to landfills and to continuously reduce the amount of general waste per employee, while increasing Roche's recycling rates and decreasing plastic waste generation. In addition, the Waste Management Global Lead will evaluate all waste streams using GAIA- and Enablon, develop alternatives, together with experts, audit waste vendors and develop and implement waste management guidance, policies, position/background papers, and directives. Being the Waste Management subject matter expert, I have and will continue to support our values of long-term cost savings, avoid any legal implications and associated costs, improve/maintain Roche's public image and be a leader in sustainability and remediation.
