Garrison Public House is a modern Gastro pub located in Sylvia Park Auckland. Garrison caters to those looking to dine out with friends or family, enjoy sports viewing and host an array of events.In my role as General Manager I was responsible for the day to day running of the business, relationship manager with key suppliers and ensuring the we met our financial targets.

I managed the day to day operation of this market leading venue. We had capacity in excess of 1000pax, catering to sports and entertainment lovers. We had an on-site brewery, with 4 house brands along with specialty brews. Our restaurant catered to 120 plus diners and had a large menu which we updated 2-3 times a year. Greenlane Wines and Spirits was one of Lions leading retail outlets. We specialised in volume brands, but also showcased premium brands from New Zealand and the rest of the world. We also distributed across Auckland, supplying chartered clubs, sports clubs, Bars & Restaurants and key corporate accounts. My responsibilities included:Recruitment and training of the front of house and warehouse teamsSupplier relationshipsManaging the promotional calendarStock control, including ordering and daily stocktakesManaging key client relationships

I was part of the Lion trainee scheme that worked across the network of hotels owned by Lion In New Zealand. We learned all aspects of Hotel management and did everything from House keeping, Kitchen hand right up through all roles front of house and back of house. I was ultimately assistant manager at which stage Lion leased off or sold their interest in all Pubs, as did DB. I then pursued a career in retail liquor.
