Operating as a hybrid leader across both business and IT, and ‘CIO/COO’ within the Investment domain. • Delivery of and executive level agreement of the Wealth strategy, covering both business and IT, and the associated transformation agenda. Subsequent delivery of this including innovating and new agile ways of working, cloud adoption, and e2e IT delivery (including operations, security, data and resilience) • Mortgage change and policy delivery including market leading propositions such as Later Life. • Delivery of industry leading guidance and advice tools for customers for savings, investment and protection propositions, working closely with Financial Conduct Authority. • Industry thought leadership through trade bodies such as The Investment and Savings Alliance (TISA) and support for the Consumer Engagement Council • Absolute focus on driving value and efficiency. Successful delivery of efficiency and continuous improvement savings across the business realising £multi-million benefits. Optimised the Operating Model to realise 15% reduction in at the same time as delivering exemplary staff engagement. • Design and implementation of the CIO Operating Model – adopting SaFe, Agile and DevOps to improve value generation and flow within technology.

IT Leadership across Nationwide IT landscape serving 15m customers (5m digitally active) and processing 4m transactions per day across banking, savings, mortgages, credit card, investments and personal loans. Transformation agenda in excess of £600m Digital: • Successful delivery of the portfolio of over 60 projects including ApplePay, Paym, mobile applications, electronic signature, experience enhancements• Established and leadership of a 500 FTE Global IT Change and Development capability for Nationwide Digital, delivering the transformation for Internet Banking, Mobile, and Sales & Originations • IT Methodology development including championing first adoption of Agile with the Society Operate and Run: • Accountable for Application Support across the whole Group IT estate to maintain a top tier service for customers and colleagues, and support FRS, CSAT and resilience objectives • Leadership of a Global Support team across 500 applications with operational budget in excess of £30m and application resilience and maintenance investment of over £25m • Led and delivered a new ITIL based operating model to increase pro-active maintenance and introduce a service assurance capability. Realised benefits of 40% reduction in incidents. • Successfully operationally landed the migration of 5m current accounts onto a new SAP Core Banking platform. Technology Build and Engineering: • Established and leadership of a skilled software development practitioner capability (CoE) to support Nationwide’s £500m+ transformation agenda, with £30m operational budget and 350 professionals working across 100 projects. • Revised the sourcing strategy and implemented Nationwide’s first off-shore development capability with TCS, to reduce costs, build capability and mitigate operational risks around key skills. • Projects delivered across whole of proposition range (mortgages, savings, regular saver, banking) and the organisation (point of sale systems, workflow)

Executive accountable for the transformation and support of the Nationwide Banking, Savings and Mortgage core platforms supporting 15m customers. Leading project teams and support specialists delivering propositions to members such as Child Trust Fund and Regular Savings amongst others.

Accountable for establishing the Sourcing and Supply Change Management function for Nationwide’s £500m+ core banking replacing Programme working with global System Integrators, SAP and third-party suppliers.
