Leadership and direction to all Chief Engineers relating to vessel maintenance and management. Ensure all vessels comply with the Company Policies and procedures as defined in the Integrated Management System (IMS). Develop, implement and maintain the Company Asset Management and Planned Maintenance System (MEX) to manage all vessels. Implement a schedule of Planned Maintenance for all vessels using the MEX System. Provide shore-based support to the Master and Chief Engineer on day-to-day engineering matters. Liaise with HR Manager on selection assignment of engineering crew to vessels. Review Engineers Log Books and address any issues requiring attention. Ensure all vessel Certificates are valid and maintained as per statutory requirements. Coordinate all engineering activities resulting from vessel Survey defects, inspection outcomes and audit deficiencies. Identify Training Needs for engineering officers and support crew. Liaise with the Master and Chief Engineer on any technical requirements. Supervise and coordinate vessel repairs and maintenance including the appointment of shore-side labour and/or service providers. Manage and control maintenance, refit and repair costs within budgetary constraints.Establish a positive interface with the Purchasing & Logistics Officer by providing clear specifications and instructions for purchased goods and services. Participate as a member of the shore-based Emergency Response Team providing engineering advice on all emergency situations. Assist management in any Incident/Accident Investigations as requested. Conductvessel survey audits and rectification actions as required, AMSA, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping and DNV. Assist management in monitoring and reporting on the environmental aspects and performance of Off-Shore Operations (i.e. collation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions data). Ensure all vessel engineering records are managed and maintained in accordance with the procedures.
