Today, I'm grateful to be leading our corporate innovation team building out corporate innovation programs to help clients leverage Communitech's vast innovation ecosystem and building the capability to execute a repeatable innovation practice. During my time at Communitech I have applied best practices in design thinking, lean startup and agile development to build and scale practitioner and executive training programs to equip leaders with the methods and mindsets to innovate. Through workshops, coaching and internal innovation programs we've helped organizations like the Globe & Mail, the Royal Canadian Airforce, Manulife, Morneau Shepell and the Province of Ontario build the capacity to align innovation with their business strategy. Inspired by my work on the board of advisors for the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre, I built an incredible team that created and executed the Digital Innovation Skills Certificate (DISC). DISC is a graduate certificate program built in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and Growth, Wilfrid Laurier University, the City of Kitchener, Conestoga College, Shopify and Hubspot. This experiential learning opportunity trained 60 top graduates from across Ontario how to implement and execute e-commerce and digital marketing best practices inside of Canadian businesses. Through the support of expert coaching, teams completed 10 paid practice projects to create and launch real ecommerce stores and complimentary digital marketing campaigns to help Canadian businesses catalyzing their success online. This program placed 59/60 graduates in new jobs, and was successful in fundraising $500,000 of support from the Ministry of Economic Development and Growth, and $500,000 in cash and in-kind contributions from partners.

From September 2015 - May 2016 I was asked to return to Laurier as an interim leader to guide their campus-linked accelerator, LaunchPad, through a significant leadership and program transition.The Schlegel Centre operates within the School of Business and Economics and achieves its aspirational vision by working collaboratively with all Laurier faculties (Arts, Music, Social Work and Science) and Campuses (Waterloo, Brantford, Kitchener, Toronto). Its goal is that all students at Laurier have the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship. It also engages Laurier alumni to participate in its wide ranging programs.The Laurier Launchpad Program profiled at www.laurierentrepreneur.ca is a key program designed and delivered by the Schlegel Centre to achieve its’ goals. Launchpad is a university based accelerator program. It is an experiential based learning opportunity for students and alumni to discover validate and launch an innovative new venture. The Program employs lean methodology and the latest methods in experiential management to eliminate risk and increase the chances of creating a successful startup.As the Program Leader I wear multiple hats focused on: - Leading and executing the operations of the Launchpad Program as we continue to scale the Laurier Launchpad in Waterloo, Brantford and Six Nations.- Providing active coaching and management to 30+ teams in LaunchPad Start & Scale program. - Designing, creating and managing an active LaunchPad Mentoring program.- Stewarding the creation of a new LaunchPad Science initiative- Representing Laurier in the Waterloo Region entrepreneurship ecosystem to ensure that Laurier contributes, participates and is recognized appropriately.

Sports Legacy Institute (SLI) Canada is a non-profit organization established to solve the concussion crisis by advancing the study, treatment, and prevention of the effects of brain trauma on athletes and other at-risk groups.Led the formation of strategic partnerships with the executive leadership teams at the Ontario Brain Injury Association, Children’s Health Foundation, Children’s Health Research Institute, London Health Science Foundation, Western University School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Western University Athletics.Designed a new injury prevention education program, Brains & Brawn Concussion Camp. Lead a team of 6 to execute the first Brains & Brawn Concussion Camp with the Ontario Football Alliance, Ontario Brain Injury Association, and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Event was covered by the SCORE, TSN, and the Hamilton Spectator and generated ~$5000 in sponsorship. Led the construction of the 2013/14 Strategy and Operations Plan for Sports Legacy Institute Canada. Sourced, built, and manage a team of six SLI Canada staff from a variety of knowledge domains. Founded the first Canadian SLI Community Educator Chapter at Wilfrid Laurier University Personally delivered 10+ SLI Community Educators programs to > 750 athletes across South Western Ontario, sourcing ~$2500 in community donations.

Concussion Toolbox created mobile applications for sideline concussion assessments and educational programs for sport organizations and high schools.Delivered injury prevention education seminars to athletes ranging from recreational to Olympic level athletes on concussions in sport, the implications of improper management, and how to safely return to sport.Participated in the 2012 International Conference for Concussions in Sports at the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich, SwitzerlandMerged with the world’s largest non-profit dedicated to concussion research, education and awareness, Sports Legacy Institute Canada, to extend our impact on Canadians.Winner of the Ontario Center of Excellence Experiential Learning Competition.
