I initially worked on a fixed term contract covering an extremely busy department, then being employed on a permanent basis. I managed the aspects of Travel and Transport for four Hospitals within the Trust. This could vary from day to day operations surrounding parking, managing the traffic flow and infrastructure of the sites and dealing with commercial transport operators, to dealing with a multitude of projects, including the proposed building of a multi-story car park and one way system on a Transport consultant basis and a new helipad, so that the Trust could keep its major trauma centre status. The role had a vast footprint and covered a magnitude of different areas that feed into other departments across the 4 sites of the Trust. I assisted dealing with ensuring that staff are able to get to work to assist the NHS with the COVID-19 Pandemic, helped set up the first vaccination centre in the world.

I worked for the UK leader in modular container supplier. Supplying various industries with container canteens, stores, dry-rooms and offices. I manage the day to day running of the Transport, to and from site to a wide variety of clients. A major part of my job is to ensure that the transport is profitable, but also effective, keeping the customers up to date and informed. I plan the day to day running of the transport and also the compliance of the Lorries and drivers, ensuring that they are legal to run. I engage a lot of sub-contractors to help with the daily transport needs and I have built a strong rapport with them to help me deliver a professional and cost effective service

I worked on a fixed term contract within a large team, managing contracts for Home to School transport, representing students attending various types of educational needs. This varies from Mainstream schools to Special educational needs. I managed the setting up of contracts from Coach Operators to Taxi companies, procuring their services, ensuring that BucksCC obtain a competitive price, balanced with a professional service. I ran the contract through its entirety, managing the day to day operation, complaints, day to day delays of service and also client’s expectations. This was a rolling six month contract through Pertemps employment agency to assist BucksCC with the busy period of procuring contracts for Home to School transport.

I ran the Planning and Operation for the North of England and Scotland for the Government and Defence contract held by Kuehne + Nagel from the Bicester site. I was solely responsible for the Planning and compliance of protectively marked, highly secure and dangerous goods to various Military establishments throughout the North of England and Scotland. This includes the suitable amount of drivers and escorts for each move. I was responsible for the customer interaction and management of all movements, ensuring that all relevant paperwork was compliant and integrity is thoroughly checked before the load goes out on the road. I have a working knowledge of Dangerous goods classifications and also load management to ensure loads were compatible and safe to be moved and advise each depot of these decisions.

Working for a busy blue chip logistics and warehousing company. I ran the night operation and manage up to 14 drivers, ensuring that all deliveries and collections were run on time and working closely with the customers, updating them of any delays. I also make sure that compliance is up to date, from working time directive to ensuring that a vehicle service plan is kept up to date. I also update the KPI’s for the company liaising with the Regional transport manager.

I worked as a radio operator in a busy Control Room for the second largest non-metropolitan police force in the country. I risk assessed the incidents prior to despatching a suitable Police officer. I managed the incident throughout, ensuring the safety of the officers and managing the implementation of set procedures. I managed the intelligence gathering for each job and updated the attending units. I managed numerous Operations from a on the ground control suite, one of these included running the Thames Police arm of the 2012 Olympics down in Dorney Lake. I operationally managed the connection between all emergency services and the Control room, dealing with high ranking officers and advising them of Communication strategy. I also carried out the role of Team Supervisor, where I managed a team of 14 staff. Part of my duty was to ensure welfare and training needs are met and to carry out quality assurance checks on their work.
