In charge of Sewer Contracts for Severn Trent Water in Stoke on Trent and Nottingham, which included the construction of CSO chambers fitted with mechanical and fixed wave screens, the construction of various sized pipelines and Tank Sewers (sizes range from 225mm dia up to 2.4m dia), the construction of large diameter wet wells and pumping stations c/w overflow and valve chambers.Responsible for the day to day running of the contract which included; the writing of all method statements and risk assessments; Duties also include costing of the contract, forecasting costs for month ahead and to end of contract, compiling the contract health and safety plan, attending both contract and public meetings and making sure the contract came in both on time and to budget

In charge of a £3m contract to up-grade the permanent access points on the west coast mainline for Birse and Railtrack.Responsible for the day to day running of the contract which included; the writing of all method statements and risk assessments; the coping of new works; compiling B of Q’s for further works, attending both contract and public meetings and making sure the contract came in both on time and to budget.(short term work timescale due to hospital treatment required following complications from wounds incurred whilst Serving with Royal Marines in 1991)

In sole charge of a £1.4m main sewer contract in Guernsey Channel Islands, which included laying 225mm dia VC pipework at depths up to 6m deep in ground conditions from running sand to hard rock, the construction of numerous pumping stations c/w wave chambers, penstock chambers and pumping mains. Duties included all setting out for the contract, the allocation of all labour, plant and materials (as there was no foreman on site), taking off and ordering of materials, liasing with the client and the public, collation and submittal of interim monthly valuations. Reporting to the company director.

Working as Project Manager for a specialist drainage/water/pipeline contractor, on numerous contracts throughout the UK, for companies including Birse, Amey, Morrison, Weldon, Christiani and Nielsen and Bowmer and Kirkland. Responsible for the allocation of plant and labour to the various contracts, the writing of all method statements and risk assessments and submitting monthly valuations to the main contractor. Reporting directly to the company directors.(short term work timescale due to hospital treatment required following complications from wounds incurred whilst Serving with Royal Marines in 1991)

Project – Isle of Wright CSO’s – A £2.5M contract to construct 2 number Pumping Stations, 3Km of Rising main, and the upgrading of 4 number Seat Outfalls. As this was a target cost adjustment contract as well as being in charge of the Engineers on the contract, I had the task of monitoring material and labour costs throughout the contract and creating target cost adjustments for all additional works.(short term contract timescale as company went into liquidation)

Acting as Agent on Water Industry contracts up to the value of £0.5M. In charge of planning, taking off and ordering materials and plant, collating the health and safety plan at the start of the contract and upgrading as contracts progressed. Appointing and supervising sub-contractors, reporting directly to the Contracts Manager. The job included open cut drainage, large dia wet wells, caisson shafts, segmental shafts and pipe jackings.(short term work timescale due to hospital treatment required following complications from wounds incurred whilst Serving with Royal Marines in 1991)

Project – Cornwall Track renewals. A design and build contract work £2.2M. Involved 31 different work sites through Cornwall. The work included resleepering, rerailing, restressing, reballasting and entire renewal. As night shift Site Manager, I was responsible for the co-ordination of plant, labour, materials and Engineers on various work sites. Reporting to the Senior Engineer with responsibility for 2 Engineers and 1 Technician and for the general overseeing of the night-time supervisory staff.

Project – RNAD Coulport, Scotland / Block Release Oxford Brooks UniversityWhilst on site, setting out Large Scale Concrete works (each pour in excess on 300m3) to RIMS (Reinforced Missle Silo’s), setting out control for each pour and carrying out I&T plan monitoring for pours for inclusion into H&S File. Also acting as Internal Quality Auditor for other Tarmac Sites

Project – A55 Conway Crossing, North Wales/Block Release Wolverhampton PolytechnicWhilst on site acting as Site Engineer in charge of Earthworks setting out to Casting Basin for the Conwy Crossing, works included provision of batter rails and profiles for main dig. Co-ordinate setting out for 25,000No Band Drains for basin bed and profiles and co-ordinate setting out for 5km of Vibrated Diaphragm wall for basin cut off wall, reporting to Section Agent
