Valve asset support for GE's HE upgrade on Uniper Enfield.

Dealing with Emerson’s Field service-based projects from small work scopes to larger and more detailed outages. This position has seen me take on greater levels of responsibility, where I have developed an assertive yet collaborative leadership style through a co-operative approach and a strong teamwork ethic, whilst also being focused on achieving results. Key strengths from this role include walkdowns, RAMS, Lift plans, Safety & Quality Plans, Submission of a day to day plan, WIP document throughout with clearly communicated variations, Variation register, Reporting of Near miss and Hazard observations using EHS Velocity, Toolbox talks, Safety Audits, Completions of the final quality pack, follow up on any customer concerns and NCR’s and finally close out meetings.The Health and Safety knowledge that I have has helped play a major part towards representing Emerson and its proactive safety culture whist onsite.

During my time with Emerson I have had the opportunity to grow and develop not only my technical knowledge of the products but also my leadership and safety skills. The role at times was not only a Valve Service Engineer, but an EHS Coordinator (part time). The knowledge and responsibilities have helped to progress and further develop in the management and supervision of staff.I have a proven track record of successfully dealing with customers through a combination of effective planning, performing the job to a high level and promoting after service sales. I have continually shown my adaptability and flexibility to the role by travelling across the UK and worldwide, maintaining a customer focused approach.Being an EHS Coordinator at Redcar meant that I was aware of not only the personal but organisational responsibilities associated with EHS. I completed my NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety to be able to take on this additional challenge.

My time at Dormor involved the accurate production of products using CNC machines. I learnt how to program and operate using Fanuc’s Manual Guide I on machines such as lathes and vertical borers. The use of precise measuring equipment working to tight tolerances in temperature-controlled environments were all key parts to this role.

Whilst at Peterson Engineering I acquired the understanding and experience of engineering component production and the repair and recovery of others. This has required me to use Milling Machines, Lathes, Vertical Borers, Radial Arm Drills, Slotting Machines, Grinders, Burning Equipment and Hand Tools. Parts that I produced included shafts, couplings, flanges, pins, specialist nuts and bolts. I also developed the knowledge on the repair and servicing of motors, gearbox’s and valves. This was a valuable stepping stone where I completed my apprenticeship and started to become a strong member of the businesses team.
