My job for more than 25 years has been to inform and entertain people and to help my colleagues accomplish the same goals, frequently under extreme deadline pressure.That means communicating clearly, whether sharing news as it happens or telling a person's story in a long-form profile. It means coordinating words and images and design. It means cutting through jargon and cliches, catching mistakes and eliminating words that add nothing. It means collaborating with anyone who can be a part of a successful project. It also has meant adapting to the changing technologies and demands of an evolving industry. My strengths include integrity, fairness and a willingness to do whatever needs to be done to get a task done correctly.
