Regional Environmental Protection Specialist
CurrentDirect preparation of federal Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements for federal airport development projects in the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and various Pacific Islands airports. I coordinate high profile and controversial NEPA documents with senior FAA management and high level local officials. I lead a team of federal environmental professionals that prepare, review and evaluate federal airport NEPA documents. I directly conduct coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the State Historic Preservation Office, under the Federal Endangered Species Act and the National Historic Preservation Acts, respectively, on behalf of the Airports Division of the FAA's Western-Pacific Region. I conduct various public meetings including scoping, workshops and public hearings on airport projects. Prepare detailed responses to Congressional inquires for airport projects. Provide technical assistance to airport sponsors on Airport Noise Compatibility Planning under 14 CFR Part 150. I served for over 2 years in a Part-Time detail with the FAA's Office of Commercial Space Transportation. I provided technical review of NEPA documents in support of Commercial Space Transportation proposals in the United States at various launch sites. I directly prepared and reviewed detailed Written Reevaluations supporting Launch Operator License and Launch Site Operator renewals. I worked with the U.S. Space Force on commercial space proposals. I have worked on NEPA documents for Commercial launch facilities since 1991.In 2023, I completed a detailed EA and FONSI/ROD for the Comprehensive Asset Management Plan at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, Arizona. Also, in 2023, I resumed my role as Project Manager for the Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport Environmental Impact Statement.
